Fun On Our Days Off!

Next we went to Frederick Maryland which just happens to be where my Great Grandmother and Great Grandfather were born. We saw some excitement in the center of town and decided to investigate and discovered they were about to have a boat parade! It seems the town had a stream that ran through the middle and it had a tendency to flood so they decided to turn it into a canal. We just happened along on the day when they were doing the boat parade. It was very fun to watch and we met some nice people.


They have a bridge that was just cement and they decided to have a mural painted on it that makes it look like a stone bridge. It was amazing! They had over 100 symbols of what community means that the artist placed in the mural. It was fun looking for different images and the bridge really did look like it was stone! I'd seen things like this in pictures but it was so great to see it in person!
